Endodontic Services

Specialized care for every situation.

From straightforward root canals to complex retreatments and surgical cases, Bathina Endodontics offers the full scope of endodontic care with board-certified precision.

01 — Primary Treatment

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy removes infected or inflamed pulp tissue from inside the tooth, relieves pain, and preserves the natural tooth structure. Under the operating microscope, Dr. Bathina can visualize the intricate canal anatomy that the naked eye simply cannot see.

Every root canal at Bathina Endodontics is performed with advanced rotary instrumentation, CBCT 3D imaging when indicated, and biocompatible obturation materials. The goal is always the same: save your tooth with the highest probability of long-term success.

What to Expect

Treatment may be completed in one visit or staged across multiple appointments — whatever the case demands. Dr. Bathina takes the time each tooth requires, never cutting corners to meet an arbitrary schedule. Once complete, your tooth is ready for restoration by your general dentist.

When It's Needed

Deep decay, cracked teeth, repeated dental procedures on the same tooth, or trauma can all damage the pulp. Symptoms include persistent pain, sensitivity to heat, swelling, or tenderness.

02 — Revision

Endodontic Retreatment

When a previously treated tooth fails to heal or develops new problems, retreatment offers a second chance to save it. Dr. Bathina carefully removes the existing filling material, cleans and reshapes the canals, and re-fills them using current best-practice techniques and materials.

Retreatments are often more complex than initial root canals. Missed canals, persistent infection, or separated instruments from prior treatment require the precision of a specialist with advanced microscopy and years of experience managing difficult cases.

Why Retreatment?

Previous treatment may fail due to missed or curved canals, inadequate cleaning, delayed restoration, or new decay. Retreatment addresses the original cause of failure.

Advanced Techniques

Operating microscope magnification up to 25x, ultrasonic instrumentation for removing old materials, and 3D imaging to map the complete root anatomy before treatment begins.

03 — Surgical

Apicoectomy

An apicoectomy (endodontic microsurgery) is a precise surgical procedure to treat persistent infection at the tip of a tooth's root. When conventional retreatment isn't feasible or hasn't resolved the issue, microsurgery targets the problem directly.

Using the operating microscope and microsurgical instruments, Dr. Bathina accesses the root tip through a small incision, removes the infected tissue and a few millimeters of the root end, then seals it with a biocompatible material. The procedure is precise, predictable, and preserves the natural tooth.

Modern Microsurgery

Today's endodontic microsurgery has success rates exceeding 90%. Smaller incisions, better visualization, and superior sealing materials mean faster healing and better outcomes.

Recovery

Most patients return to normal activities within a day or two. Post-operative discomfort is typically mild and well-managed with over-the-counter medications.

04 — Emergency

Traumatic Dental Injuries

Accidents happen. A knocked-out tooth, a crack from biting something hard, or a sports injury can all compromise the dental pulp. Prompt evaluation by an endodontist is critical to saving the tooth and achieving the best long-term outcome.

Dr. Bathina evaluates traumatic injuries with CBCT imaging to assess root fractures, alveolar bone damage, and pulp vitality. Treatment is tailored to the specific injury and may range from monitoring and splinting to root canal therapy or regenerative procedures.

Time-Sensitive Care

For avulsed (knocked-out) teeth, reimplantation within 30 minutes dramatically improves prognosis. Call immediately and we will prioritize your care.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Cracked teeth, luxation injuries, and root fractures each require different management strategies. Accurate diagnosis with 3D imaging guides the right treatment plan.

Our approach to every case.

Evidence-Based Planning

Every treatment begins with an honest assessment of the case. Dr. Bathina evaluates prognosis with a Bayesian mindset — weighing the clinical evidence, updating as findings emerge, and giving you a straightforward answer about what to expect.

Microscope & 3D Imaging

Every procedure is performed under the dental operating microscope at up to 25x magnification, paired with CBCT 3D imaging when indicated. This combination reveals anatomy invisible to the naked eye and enables precise treatment planning.

Biocompatible Materials

We use only the highest-quality, biocompatible materials — never constrained by insurance formularies. Bioceramic sealers and MTA ensure optimal healing and long-term seal.
